Delegates:
Key
stage two and other interested teachers.
Objective:
To
enable teachers to use the romance and imagination conjured up by the VIKING age
with cross curriculum links to enable children to achieve attainment targets
simultaneously in history and other areas of the National Curriculum.
Method:
Audio
visual presentations with delegate interaction
Exploring chronology and evidence for background information.
Hands
on examples of reproduction tenth century artefacts.
Ideas and practical craft workshops linking the Viking theme to a wide range of
cross curriculum links including mathematics, science, life skills, information
technology, geography etc.

General:
Group
size limited between 10 and 15 to ensure individual attention.
Cost
£25.00 includes handouts, "Crafts for the Junior Viking" project
book,
light refreshments morning and afternoon.
Lunch:
Hot
drinks will be available,
To reduce costs delegates are requested to bring a packed lunch.
Exhibition:
During
the lunch break books and other materials will be available for reference along
with information about to places to visit, archaeological sources etc.
Course
TUTOR Mrs. R B Sheard is a specialist in arts and crafts for special needs
groups and director of "The Viking Experience" which has been
providing school visits and INSET training on a Dark Age theme since 1991.
Mr. John Sheard Living History coordinator for "The Vikings" National
Educational Charity for over five years.
